James D. Nelson, M.D.
Dr. Nelson was born in Boulder City, Nevada and earned his medical degree from the University of Nevada. He completed his pediatrics residency at the University of Minnesota. Dr. Nelson is a Fellow of the American Academy of Pediatrics and has been practicing medicine in Dayton since 1984. Dr. Nelson is married to Donna and they have 4 beautiful daughters between them. They are the proud grandparents of one granddaughter.

James M. Freuler, P.A.-C.
James Freuler joined the practice in mid 2005.  He was raised in Chattanooga and graduated from Bryan College in 1985. James attended Trevecca Nazarene College and graduated in 1989. Prior to joining Dayton Pediatrics, James worked for 17 years in family practice and emergency medicine. James is married to Tammy, has 3 children and lives in Dayton.

Elizabeth A. Smith. P.A.-C.
Elizabeth A. Smith, "DeDe," joined Dayton Pediatrics in 2010, following her graduation from South College as a Physician Assistant. Dede worked in nursing continuously following her 1986 graduation from the nursing program at the University of Tennessee, spending over 10 years at Rhea Medical Center as an emergency room nurse. She is no stranger to the families of Rhea County and looks forward to the challenge of pediatrics. Dede lives in Spring City and is the proud mother of 3 children.
